A clearer starting point.
Answers for the controlled beta of Jiffy Reach.

Getting started
How do I get Jiffy Reach?
Jiffy Reach is in a controlled beta, opening to its first testers on October 17, 2026. Request beta access and we will email you a download link and instructions when a place opens.
What do I need?
Windows 11, or Windows 10 version 1809 or later, 64-bit, and at least one Windows voice, which Windows includes. Nothing else is needed for the screen reader. Ollama is optional, for AJ on your PC. See system requirements and the installer.
Will Windows warn me when I install it?
It might. The installer is code-signed, but Jiffy Jr Development is a new publisher, so Windows SmartScreen may still warn until it recognises us. If it does:
- Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”.
- Choose More info.
- Choose Run anyway.
Only run an installer that came from your beta invitation.
Does it work with my screen reader?
Jiffy Reach works alongside NVDA, JAWS and Narrator without fighting them. Braille displays are not supported yet.
Who makes Jiffy Reach?
Jiffy Reach is made by Jiffy Jr, an independent developer, under the name Jiffy Jr Development. It was inspired by the developer’s dad, Jeff, who has low vision. Read why Jiffy Reach exists.
Using Jiffy Reach
How do I talk to AJ?
Press Ctrl+Shift+L, use push-to-talk, or use the keyboard command palette. You can also say “Hey AJ”, but the wake word is still being tuned and misses fast or casual speech, so don’t rely on it as your only way in.
How do I stop everything at once?
Press Ctrl+Alt+Escape. The emergency stop always works, and it also locks the Secure Vault.
Does Jiffy Reach need the internet?
Not for everyday use. Screen reading, speech, voice commands, dictation, the Secure Vault and AJ on Ollama all run on your PC. Dictation downloads its Whisper speech model once, and an Ollama model downloads when you choose one. Cloud AI needs the internet, and it is optional.
Do I need Ollama, a graphics card, or a subscription?
No. The screen reader needs no AI model and no graphics card. Ollama is optional, for AJ on your PC; Jiffy Reach suggests a model size that suits your computer and can download it for you. Dictation uses the graphics card when it can.
Why did a task or autofill fail?
AI can choose the wrong step, profiles do not cover every program, and autofill cannot fill every application. Keep another way to control your computer. Check the known limitations and report what you tried and what happened, without private screen content.
Plans and pricing
Is it really free?
Yes. Jiffy Reach Free is permanently free, with no account and no card, and it includes everything in Jiffy Reach today: the screen reader, voice commands, dictation, AJ on your PC, task mode, application profiles and the Secure Vault.
What is Jiffy Reach+?
Jiffy Reach+ will add advanced cloud AI from Anthropic, paid for by Jiffy Jr Development. It is coming soon at $12.99/month, or $129.99/year billed once a year, in US dollars. It is not on sale yet. As an advanced option, you can already use your own Anthropic API key in the app, paid to Anthropic directly with a monthly spending limit. Compare the plans.
What happens if I stop paying for Reach+?
Only the cloud AI stops. Everything in Jiffy Reach Free keeps working, including AJ on your PC and the Secure Vault.
Privacy and the Secure Vault
What leaves my computer?
By default, nothing. Cloud AI is used only with your own key and “Allow cloud AI” turned on, secrets are removed first, and Private Mode blocks it entirely. Read the privacy notice for the details.
How does the Secure Vault keep my passwords safe?
Your vault is encrypted on your PC and locks itself when idle, on emergency stop, when its window closes and on exit. It is hidden from screenshots and screen sharing. It fills a saved login only into the exact website it was saved for, after your passphrase, and never submits the form. AJ never sees a password. Use test logins during the beta.
What if I forget my vault passphrase?
Use the recovery code you were given when you set up the vault, so keep it somewhere safe. Your vault never leaves your PC, so Jiffy Jr Development cannot open it or recover it for you.
Will updating keep my vault and settings?
Yes. Upgrading from an earlier beta keeps your vault, settings, profiles and tasks, and uninstalling keeps them too. Encrypted backups are made automatically every week.
